GUILD NEWS: Pushing foward!
06/02/2010 12:42 by Walkyria.

Hello everyone!
.
It has been a little more than a month since our last Guild News and we have a few things to cover so we will go as briefly as possible and please, if you have questions, read the more details post on the forums about each subject and feel free to hit Walkyria with any questions concerning the changes.
.
First, we would like to congratulate Bedo for his promotion to officer. We are all happy that he accepted to take on an even more involved role in the guild, in addition of his raid leading. Congrats!
.
Second, you might have already noticed that we made some changes to the guild rank. We tried to clarify the ranks names and make them more pertinent in the context of a raiding guild. Here are the changes highlights (if you want to read all the details, click here!):
.
Recruits: We revised this rank to make it more clearly a raiding recruitement probation rank. Clarifying the period and the pre-requisite for promotion: 80-100% attendance over the last 30 days.

Members & Wazang (raiders) => Raiders: We are a raiding guild and as such, our main core should be raiders. We eliminated the members rank by merging the 2 rank and changing the attendance requirement to still be demanding but add a little flexibility: going from 75% over the last 30 days to 60% over the last 60 days. If you can't maintain the rank, you will move to the Casuals rank.

Bazinga (RL/CL) => Advisors: Hopefully finding a more meaningful name will help reflect more accurately the role that Sydar, Shinnoryuu and Envy are playing in the guild.

Veterans: We are introducing this new rank in a effort to better reflect the commitment/contribution of the long time raiders. The players on this rank will have been with the guild for 10-12 months and have maintained a raider rank for at least 6 months. They are on par with the Raiders rank for all benefit but for the attendance. It is not a 'forever' rank. Getting aligned with the DKP rules, if your attendance hit 0% over the last 60 days, you will be move to the Casuals rank.

Casuals: Rank composed of friends, family, players on extended leave of absence and simply, more casual players. On this rank, there is not expectation of raiding. If you want to invite a friend for him to raid with us, this is not the rank for him. If you want to invite a friend so he can level and then eventually raid with us, once he is 80 and decently geared, then we need to talk about it and make it known that the intention has now changed towards raiding. Don't get us wrong, this rank is full of friends, family members, raiders on extended leave, etc. So they are always welcome to sign up for a raid but they have no priority on the raid draft and they don't share the same privileges as the raiders as far as flasks, etc.
.
Third, in an effort to fill out our raiding ranks we will occasionally pug empty spots. We will try to be very selective and limit to 1 or 2 people in a 10 man and 3 to 4 in a 25 man. Fortunately, we are mostly looking for ranged dps which is easier to pug than a tank or a healer. Our recruiting focus will be: spriest, enh shammy, ranged dps and holy pally. If you have friends that would be interested to join, this is the time for them to put in an application.
.
Fourth, we will support our guildies that need to the special events in 25 man for the legendary chain quest. That said, for respect of the other 24 people in the raid we will limit the attempts at 5 per raid and we will strongly suggest the concerned player try to get some practice in 10 man and talk to the other player that have done it or that have any knowledge on the specifics of the fight. At maximum, 5 attempts represents 30 min of raiding on 3 hours which is significant when we need to keep our focus on Sindragosa but it is a very good example of what we can do as a guild for some of our guildies, especially since this is not an event that can be done easily in a pug environment. We will ALWAYS offer guild repairs for theses attempts to alleviate some of the cost for the other raiders. Please everyone, be patient and in good spirit about this!
.
Fifth, regarding the 10 man...
=> We added a 10 man RS on the raiding schedule. Our only focus with this raid is to get a kill. We don't intend to maintain that raid much longer once we get a kill. The loot is for most people not that interesting and it is strongly reflected in the sign ups so far.
=> We want to continue the push the 10 man Hard Modes & LK. So please sign up. As indicated before, if we are missing only one person (max 2), we will try to make it happen by pugging. So sign up and show up! We have more hard modes to achieve!
=> The 10 man mixed run will be pushing hard modes too if the group is strong enough. This will always be the call of the raid leader. Last week, the group killed everything up to Sindragosa, including a Hard Mode Gunship. This was with 7 alts, 2 mains and one pugger. Again, sign up, show up and lets kill some more stuff!
.
Sindragosa is now waiting for us to give her a fatal blow. Are we not all curious to go see the Lich King in 25 man?! :-D
Sign up! Show up! Be ready!
